The Coby Story
AM/CAN BISS CHCohiba Esplendido
Chapter Three - Coby

OK I was hooked on
Havanese and I wanted another one. I also wanted to start showing in
the US, as well as Canada. My Parents were wintering
down in Florida with their Havanese and were thinking of getting another
one. They went to a dog show in Florida, talked to breeders and heard of Yup's Havanese, owned by Janet Birdsall. I did some research, talked to
Janet, liked her dogs and her breeding philosophy and decided to bring home
my second dog. Again through a bit of a fluke I managed to get breeders
pick.

Coby
(Cohbia Esplendido) was the puppy
everyone fell in love with instantly,
full of life, happy happy happy, there
is no way you can ever get that dogs
tail down, even when bathing him. He
was such a sweetheart.
He also happened to be flawless, great great topline,
beautiful movement,
no faults in structure and a coat like I'd never seen.
That coat would end up
costing me hours of my life every day, but he
was beautiful. Coby is a Canadian and US Champion, and did it all by 8
months of age. He has many many breed wins, as well as many group
wins and was top ranked in Canada in 2006 and top ranked in US for 2007.
One of the top Havanese in the US!!

Coby at Nationals, where he won Sweepstakes for his age group, and took an AOM

One of Coby's Many
Group Ones - Still a puppy here
Coby hit the ring at 6
months in Florida, as I wanted to finish him in US and Canada. He showed 7
times and had his championship. He also had Best in Breed, and Group
placements - this was not your ordinary puppy.

BABY COBY - Where is the zipper?
He was about 12 weeks old in this pic.
When he got home,
Heather worked her magic and finished him in two events in Canada. He has
since put on multiple groups, best puppy in show and of course many breed
points. Coby is ranked amongst the top Canadian dogs, and at his 6 month
show career was 21st US. All this with a 6 month show career!!!!
OK I was really hooked
now, and my daughter was also getting interested in handling and showing.
The next dog was going to be for her
